Cotswold Conference Centre unveils its Grade 1 meeting space
For generations, the Grade 1 listed country house Foxhill Manor was a private residence – later, it became an elegant company HQ with oak-panelled offices. From Easter 2012, the house will be unveiled by Cotswold Conference Centre as an upmarket venue for executive board meetings.
The Conference Centre, near Broadway, is based in 370 acres of fields and woodlands known as Farncombe Estate. At the heart of this beautiful parkland is Foxhill Manor, built in 1909 in Arts and Crafts style. In those days, it sat in 100 acres of its own grounds and for a long time was the home of the Maudslays, the family associated with both the Maudslay and Standard motor companies in the first half of the 20th century. It was also the home of Henry Maudslay DFC who died in the WW2 Dambusters Raid.
This lovely, historic old house has never been open to the public before. Now the Sørensen family, who own the estate and its businesses, have decided to allow limited use for corporate and other guests. Two executive meeting rooms – the Lord Mancroft Suite and Old Dining Room – both have fireplaces and stunning views over the Vale of Evesham. The Ballroom, with its full-length French windows and orangery-style roof, will also be available for up to 50 people (theatre-style.)
