Happiness is a Conference in the Countryside

Workplace happiness is high on the agenda at Cotswold Conference Centre this week.  The dedicated meeting and training venue near Broadway is hosting a Happiness at Work conference to coincide with National Stress Awareness Day on Wednesday 2 November.

According to new research by AXA Insurance, our stress levels have doubled in the past four years and it’s not surprising: jobs are less secure and people are having to justify their position at work.  The International Stress Management Association is spearheading a campaign to acknowledge the problem and hopes to get more organisations involved.

“We are delighted to be hosting the Happiness at Work Conference on behalf of The Learning Architect, a leading training organisation,” says Cotswold Conference Centre head of sales Nick Akerman.   “As Investors in People, we always aim to put our staff at the top the agenda.

“With the economic challenges we all face, it’s up to forward-looking businesses to lead the way in combating stress.  A healthier work culture can reduce absenteeism and empower people to take more responsibility for their own wellbeing at work.”

Cotswold Conference Centre is based on the 370-acre Farncombe Estate, with stress-busting panoramic views over the Vale of Evesham.  The Happiness at Work conference features speakers such as Liggy Webb, author of The Happy Handbook - A Compendium of Modern Life Skills and Mark Williamson, director of Action for Happiness, which launched in April 2011 and already has 15,000 members.

A panoramic view indeed is a refreshing sight that conference attendees would love to see and a new experience to explore.
