What is Musikscool ? Coach, Create, Collaborate !

Working in teams, participants will be given access to musical instruments, a computer with sampling software, professional 32 track digital recording equipment, coaching and technical expertise, enabling them to create their album from scratch and record it, and at the same time raise significant funds for your chosen charity. They also have to create a brand for their band and create their own CD label and cover using cameras, scanners etc. They will need marketing skills, fund raising ability and negotiation skills to raise money through sponsorship, and CD sales.

Participants will have to identify what unique skills they can bring to the team, plan their limited resources and work together effectively in order to succeed. True success will come through effective collaboration, communication, decision making, planning and process skills. Everything is against the clock, and the energy required is considerable.

Musikscool is run by a team of facilitators who have extensive experience of running these events in a wide variety of business situations including Retail, IT, Manufacturing and Finance. They will observe, assist, encourage, and most importantly give feedback on social styles, leadership under pressure, problem solving and decsion making. Our feedback process will be tightly managed so that every participant receives written and verbal feedback from the facilitator team. The feedback can be used to support career plans and training programmes, as well as forming the basis of the participant’s first personal development.

By the end of the event the group will have written, rehearsed, performed and recorded its own 5 track album. You will have created a marketing plan for selling the CD to raise £5,000 for a charity of your choice. You will have designed the CD cover and insert booklet, and obtained media coverage of your achievement.
