Jørgen Philip-Sørensen: Times Online Obituary

The fitting obituary (linked below) was printed in ‘The Times’ Newspaper last week.

To put the relevance into the context of Cotswold Conference Centre and Farncombe Estate, Nick Akerman writes…

‘One of Jørgen Philip-Sørensen’s ('JPS') greatest legacies was his belief that security personnel should be well trained and made to feel valued. The Group 4 Training School at Broadway was a testament to this. Over more than four decades now thousands of security personnel and business people, from humble security guards starting out in their new job to senior managers and professionals, have spent days, sometimes weeks learning their trade on the Broadway estate. This investment in people development is still happening here every week and giving companies a competitive edge by using this superb learning environment which was developed over time out of one man’s vision.

When Cotswold Conference Centre was launched in January 2001 as a training and conferencing venue to make good use of the buildings of the Group 4 Training School, it was 'JPS'’s commitment to training and investment in people development that gave us the investment and focus for our business model. That focus continues today at CCC and in his memory we will carry on delivering a dedicated training environment for those businesses who recognise the value of investing in their people - like 'JPS' did.’
