ROI: How do your meetings measure up?

Conference News magazine has recently reported that less than 10 per cent of meetings are currently measured for business value, according to a new Meeting Professionals International (MPI) study.

The Business Value of Meetings report identifies key meetings industry benchmarks and identified many businesses rely on the current marketplace definition that there is implied business value if participants are satisfied with the meeting or event objectives.

Rachael Buttery
Rachael Buttery, Corporate Sales Manager at Cotswold Conference Centre explains “Finding the right venue for corporate training or business events can make a huge difference to the success of the activity. Here at CCC we recognise the importance of measuring quality as well as value – we have many returning clients that tell us time and time again that our dedicated training facilities and business focus return them a better ROI for their businesses.”

A record 3 months for Cotswold Conference Centre, Broadway

Cotswold Conference Centre (CCC), Broadway are celebrating a record start to 2010.

Head of Sales, Nick Akerman explained: “Throughout last year we stuck to what we know we are good at, kept faith with the full-time staff, and have retained all our regular clients. In the current climate it is such good news that the corporate training world seems to be active again. New bookings have almost quadrupled compared to the same period last year and we’ve just had our busiest three months for enquiries on record. New clients have been won based on our service promise and the facilities rather than just price and, at last, quality seems to be back on the agenda.”

New clients for 2010 include a division of Balfour Beatty based in Derby who have made CCC their venue of choice for two forthcoming residential training programmes. Nick continues: “They had been looking for a new venue partner who shares their service principles and CCC was initially recommended by one of their training partners. We are looking forward to working with them later in the year.”

CCC is the only Conference Centre of Excellence in the Cotswolds and an Investor in People. For further details about Cotswold Conference Centre visit www.CotswoldConferenceCentre.com or call 0845 230 8580.

CCE/IACC study tour visit CCC

The Cotswolds area was the first overnight stop for this weeks CCE/IACC study tour. A large group of 35, all from leading UK conference centres, descended on us to benchmark and share best practice. It had been a busy day visiting three other centres, so after an informal Indian Buffet, the group were able to unwind still further in small groups with a most enjoyable CCC Quiz in the bar reviewing the events of 2008. Laughter and confusion followed! After a good sleep, a hearty cooked breakfast and some topical discussions, the coach sped away up the hill for the next stage of the 3 day tour.
